The Lursty Little Leprechaun

That Lursty little Leprechaun's
a con that can't control
his rabidly avid appetite
that is like a troll's
his hunger's not for food or liquor
nor is it for gold
his bridge is in his britches
and he's vicious with the toll

every time he meets a gal
his morals surely sink
he's quite enticing with his charm
and conquers with a wink
To think without the mind
he's definitely adept
so many a women wept
when he left 'em where they slept

he copes 'bout as earnest
as a poker in the furnace
and thats what he will do
'til it's broken or he burns it
that Lursty little leprechaun's
a con that can't control
his habit like a rabbit
he's the ravisher of holes

if he found one in a tree
it probably won't be safe
just give him some permission
and admission he will take
with missionary faith
he's impetuous as an imp
he can't even keep it chaste
when he's impotent and limp

the horny lil' devil
is what they call him 'round my way
if ya'll meet him hide your wives
lest he tempt 'em off to lay
The Lursty little leprechaun's
that con of which I've told
if the devil could be leapt upon
he'd sell his wicked soul

Subpriminal Blues

I bought me a house
with payments lower than rent
but when a year passed by
Oh, you know where they went

they jacked 'em up sky high
so the bank could make it's buck
I told 'em I was broke...
but they ain't give a f---

down on my luck, stuck,
runnin' outa time
all because I signed a line
that said somethin' like subprime

I'm spendin' what I saved
can't buy gifts for christmas
everytime my dues get paid
they say thank you for your business

but karma is a b---h
the banks are failin now
and the federal reserve's
got the nerve to bail them out

throwin fuel upon the flames
and smoke all in our eyes
fix a problem with the problem
and choke us all with lies

everyone wants somebody
to lend them a sum of money
but when someone in need may ask-
they're laughin' like it's funny

with no food upon the fork
we might as well foreclose
let the bank pop the cork
and snort it up his nose

America the Beautiful

Sing it like a blues baby

(Chorus)
Sky scrapers Rise
Up until the midnight hour
(2x)
America the beautiful
pyramid of power
all she loves more than money is
the smell of gunpowder
(2x)
The towers of ol' Babylon
gon' fall, they gon' fall
The towers of ol' Babylon
gon' fall with all they walls
(2x)
  it's written on papyrus
cities covered up in briars
set it all a'fire
with a meteor shower

Sky scrapers rise
up until the midnight hour (2x)

(verse)
A war could be lost
and still be all for profit
Our souls bleed the cost
so we just need to stop it

Obama said he will
now the planets in his pocket
I'm hopin' that he's real,
not a damn false prophet

 I can't put no signs
on my hand or my head (3x)
No, I'd  rather die and
you can brand me when I'm dead

I don't wannabe so ominous
We'll see what Obama does
If he fails, then buildings
will all fall like dominoes

(chorus)

To Gather

Waitin' on the sun to come
and give us back our colors
Prayin' for some to come around
and live as brothers

Let's look beyond those covers
that smother all our eyes
and let's all stand together
while we wait for the sun to rise

Some will live
and some will die
either way
the sun will rise

Some will live
and some will die
either way
the sun will rise

Seein' Stars

Fall back to this carnal rock
alarm clock screams
intrude into the lucid dreams
Awake and break the sweet sojourn
and join the old routine of morning
Take a leak, relief is warm

flush the steamy water clearer
check the mirror, for the aura
bluish-green aquamarine
with a little splash of orange

Step outside and scry the sky
starlights fly right by my eyes
like bugs at night surrounding lamps
they whirl and swirl around in dance

Glance at the gal with the curious stare
her eyes are felt through unseen air
she looks away as if she's caught
we're both aware of our shared thought

Have you ever felt the sight of others?
have you seen the light they bring?
do you hear the heartbeat sing,
and follow it's endeavors?

Go back to sleep, pull up the covers,
wait and see what we discover
eyelids close like lovely clover
when the day is close to over

Itchy Foot Blues

if ya git bit
by a fire ant
don't ya go stompin'
on the hill
when ya give 'em a chance
they'll git up ya pants
and have ya whole leg
itchin like hell.

Providence Spring

Mee Maw told me
when I was little
a tale 'bout a war
that we call civil

my Great-great-
great-great-Grandfather
Fought for Uncle Sam
in that damn slaughter

He served the country
he loved to the fullest
and the battlefield filled
with blood and bullets

the bodies dropped
like leaves in Autumn
but he fought and fought
til the Confederates caught'im

they brought'im on down
to Andersonville
he musta felt like he fell
and landed in hell

while surrounded by walls
that were built by slaves
thousands were killed
and filled the graves

they got ill with the plague
or shot by the guards
times got real hard
and a lot of them starved

the water dried up
when summertime came
and my Grandfather cried
"All I Want is some RAIN!"

he dropped like a tear
to his knees with a prayer
but before he finished
he could see in the air-

a thunderstorm forming
up above the prison
his prayer was rewarded-
for the Lord had listened

A lightning bolt struck
a spot nearby
and a geyser erupted
and shot to the sky

the prisoners jumped up
and danced and sang
they named that spot
the Providence Spring

For the Lord gave them water
to drink and to bathe
and my Great-great-great-great grandfather
was thankfully saved.

My Imagication

A breeze hit the trees
picking up some leaves
then threw 'em through the air
and carried one up high

I wasn't really sure,
but I'd seen it in my eye
the leaf became a bird
and then began to fly

with flapping wings and feathers,
it flew up close to me
and told me I could do the same
if only I believed-
 that leaves
could turn into the birds
I thought my eyes deceived me
and dismissed it as absurd

the bird became a leaf again
and quit it's aviation-
as just another figment
of my imagication...
